Lucas’s practice focuses on estate planning, probate and trust administration, and probate and trust litigation. Lucas is licensed in California and Nevada. He has diverse experience in the areas of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, probate estates, trust administration, trust and estate litigation, business formation, and federal and state taxation. Past litigation clients include individual and professional trustees, beneficiaries, surviving spouses, care givers, omitted heirs, competing wills, adopted out children, intestate claims of predeceased spouse to real property, spousal property petitions, partition actions, undue influence and elder abuse claims, and representation of a co-administrator/co-executor in a 13 year probate. Prior to joining Goodwin, Brown, Gross & Lovelace, APC, Lucas was an attorney with Albence and Associates, APC, for nearly 5 years in the same practice area. Before Albence & Associates, APC, Lucas was an attorney at a major securities litigation firm headquartered in San Diego. With securities litigation Lucas was involved in a variety of complex litigation cases, including mortgage backed securities cases and post-merger derivative suits. Lucas’s diverse litigation experience in a wide variety of trust and probate litigation matters, all the way to multi-party, national scale cases, gives him a unique perspective in his estate planning, affording his estate litigation clients exceptional representation and his estate planning clients practical experience of the implications of how documents are drafted and the situations they create.
